Born John Belar Johnson, AKA Thumpin John Thomas...

Grew up listening to my sister Cheryl’s Beatles records, found the Stones, Zepplin and The Allman Brothers on my own.

First radio gig: a pirate station run out of a 71 Chevy van with The Goodson Twins Mike and Jack’s dad’s ham transmitter.

First song every played: The Who - "Wont Get Fooled Again".

First rock concert, The Byron Music Festival in 1973. Saw Jimi, Duane, Janis and naked girls in the lake. Well, i took on the lifestyle and never looked back. Over the next 35 years i have programmed rock stations in Georgia, Arizona, New Jersey, Tennessee and Florida. Worked every format and odd jobs in between. Followed the Dead for a couple of summers and lived to love the life.
Wife, two daughters and a real job in Pensacola FL keeps me busy and the family fed. I’m doing ROCK100DIZ just because i wanna rock.
